Little House on the Prairie

Laura and her family leave the big woods and head for Indian Territory. There were just too many settlers in the big woods and not enough game. Pa is hopeful that going west is the answer. The Ingalls family has a great adventure as they search for a new home. Then we get a treat to see how Pa builds their new little house on the prairie. Life in 1860’s Indian Territory as little Laura Ingalls Wilder remembers it.

This book had a bit more excitement than the first one. Fording the river, packs of wolves, local Indian tribes, and a bout of malaria. I find it fascinating to read how people lived before electricity and grocery stores and so does my children. This is a great series to give your kids a look into the past from a Godly perspective. Wonderful illustrations and a wonderful little point of view in Laura that little girls connect with. Highly recommended.
